George Jacobson<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

George Jacobson is President\/Head Coach of Vaughan Aquatic Club from 1988 until present. He is also the owner and operator of ‘George Jacobson Swim School’. www.georgejacobsonswimschool.com
For the past 41 years he has taught and coached many swimmers of all ages to swim and compete from Novice to National Level. As a Masters swimmer George has held numerous Canadian records and has been ranked in the top five in the world in the 50, 100 and 200 metres butterly. He was selected as the head coach to the Canadian team for the 2001 Maccabi Games held in Israel. George represented South Africa in 1972 and was the 100 & 200 metre National Butterfly Champion. He was selected as the National coach to the South African team in 1983. George was the technical advisor to the South African Swimming Association and President of the South African Swim Coaches and Teachers Association. George has found time in between his hectic teaching and coaching schecdule to train and compete in the World Masters Championships in Riccione, Italy in 2012 and in Montreal, Quebec in 2014. In Riccione George was 4th in the 50 Butterlfly (2nd in Canada), 3rd in the 100 Butterfly (Broke Canadian record by 3 secs) and 2nd in the 200 Butterfly (Broke Canadian record by 27 secs). In Montreal George was 12th in the 50m Butterfly (fastest Canadian), 100 Butterfly 7th (fastest Canadian), 200 Butterfly 3rd (fastest Canadian) and 13th in the 3km open water swim (2nd Canadian). In August 2012 George also competed in the 3 Km Ontario Masters Open Water Championships swim where he finished first in his age group. In June 2013 he completed the grueling 20km ocean swim around the Island of Key West, Florida winning his age group. Some additional sports achievement includes running 16 standard marathons (42.2km) and 8 ultra marathons (53-90Km).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Steven Jacobson\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Steven Jacobson is the Head Coach of the Thornhill branch of the Vaughan Aquatic Club.\u00a0 A club member from 1988 to 1999, Steven held numerous club records, qualified for Junior Nationals (Eastern Canadian Championships), and represented Vaughan in 11 Ontario Team Championships.<\/p>

From 1999 to 2003, Steven was a member of the McMaster Marauders Varsity Swim Team, helping the program capture Ontario University Championship titles in both 2000 and 2003. During this time, he earned his Honors degree in Kinesiology and qualified for the Canadian University National Championships (CIS) in 2001. That same year, he represented Canada at the Maccabi Games in Israel, earning a bronze medal.<\/p>

In addition to coaching, Steven is a Registered Kinesiologist and remains an active Masters swimmer. At the 2017 Canadian Masters Nationals in Quebec, he captured 2 golds, 1 silver, and 1 bronze. Later that year, at the World Masters Championships in Budapest, he achieved four top-20 finishes, including 13th place in the 200m Butterfly.<\/p>

Beyond the pool, Steven has tested his endurance in numerous half and full marathons, as well as multiple Muskoka 70.3 Half Ironman races (2023, 2024, 2025). His lifelong passion for sport and performance continues to inspire the athletes he coaches today.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Greg Jacobson<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Greg Jacobson is the Elite Group Coach for the Woodbridge branch of the Vaughan Aquatic Club. He swam for the Vaughan Aquatic Club from 1996-2010 competing in numerous Championship Meets throughout his swimming career. Some of the meets Greg attended include Ontario Provincial Championships and Ontario Team Championships. He also represented Canada Internationally at 3 Junior Maccabi Games, where he won 16 medals in Freestyle, Butterfly and Breaststroke.<\/p>

Academically, Greg completed his Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Master of Education (M.Ed) degree at the University of Toronto (OISE). In Greg’s coaching career he has had dozens of swimmers make the Provincial and National level. More specifically, he has coached his swimmers to make meets such as Canadian Swimming Champs, Eastern Canadian Champs and Ontario Provincial Champs. Much success has been achieved at these meets, often having swimmers make ‘final’ swims and reach the podium.<\/p>

Greg’s past experiences as a teacher, swimming instructor and competitive swimmer, allow him to understand the specific needs of a high-performance competitive athlete. Combine this with his expert knowledge of the technical, physiological, and psychological aspects of swimming, it is understandable why Greg is an integral part of the club.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Dan Foster\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tDan Foster has coached Vaughan Aquatic club swimmers for the past 21 years from 1994-present. During this time he has primarily worked with the Advanced swimmers.\n\nDan grew up swimming with Mississauga Swim Club from 1979-1983. Throughout these years he was a multiple medal winner at Junior National Championships in both 100m and 200m backstroke. Dan also qualified for senior nationals in the same disciplines. During the 1984 and 1985 seasons Dan swam for Indian River Community college. This college has the longest consecutive streak for National championships men’s swimming titles. During his tenor at college, Dan was 3rd at State Champs in 200m back and ranked top 10 in the country for all junior college swimmers in the same event.\n\n\nDan also has many great achievements in open water lake swimming. In 1998 he swam and successfully completed the gruelling 50Km swim across lake Ontario with a time of 19 hours 12 minutes. In 1984 Dan came 5th in the world for the 5km open water lake swim at World Masters Champs.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
